Tropical Hurricane '22
I got this recipe from a friend. I'm not sure of the original source. It's basically a hurricane with half of the passion fruit syrup swapped for pineapple juice and creme de banana.
I did not have any Elemakule Tiki Bitters, but the Bittermen's website says allspice and cinnamon for the main flavors so I fudged it with 1/4 tsp allspice dram and 1/4 tsp cinnamon syrup and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. The allspice dram I use is homemade using Alton Brown's recipe with a stick of cinnamon added and Wray and Nephew White Overproof rum. This is of course not going to be an exact match, but it was really good.
The recipe calls for Smith and Cross rum, so a high ester, high proof Jamaican rum is what you want. Something like Plantation O.F.T.D. would also probably be very good, but watch the abv.
