Spontaneous Rumbustion
This one is on my list for making during Christmas 2022, but I'll probably skip the hassle of pouring flaming liquid between two mugs in my house.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lemon Juice | 3⁄4 Fl. Oz. | |
| Honey Syrup | 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. | |
| Water | 4 Fl. Oz. | Boiling water |
| Overproof Demerara Rum | 1 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. | Smuggler's Cove category 6 - black blended overproof |
| Unaged Jamaican Overproof Rum | 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. | Smuggler's Cove category 1 - overproof pot still lightly aged |
Directions
- Combine lemon juice and honey in an Irish coffee glass
- Add rums to separate mug - apparently a "blue blazer mug" is the intended drinkware
- Add boiling water to rum
- Light the rum on fire
- Pour flaming rum/water mixture between two mugs for a few seconds
- When flame turns orange, pour into the Irish coffee glass and put out flame by covering it
- Express lemon peel and then use as garnish
