Navy Grog (Trader Vic's)
I have seen some versions of this which had 1 oz of trinidad, 1 oz of jamaica, and 1 oz of demerara rum. I bet you could just pour 3oz of Plantation O.F.T.D. and call it a day. My understanding is that being able to swap O.F.T.D. in for a more complex pour of 3 different rums was part of the goal of it.
Ingredients
Ingredient | Amount | Notes |
---|---|---|
Lime Juice | 3⁄4 Fl. Oz. | |
Grapefruit Juice | 3⁄4 Fl. Oz. | |
Demerara Syrup 2:1 | 1⁄4 Fl. Oz. | |
Allspice Dram / Pimento Dram | 1⁄4 Fl. Oz. | |
Aged Jamaican Rum | 1 Fl. Oz. | Smuggler's Cove category 1, pot still lightly aged overproof. I went aged Jamaican leaning towards Smith and Cross, but could also be interpreted to mean 126 proof unaged Jamaican rum. |
Moderately Aged Rum | 1 Fl. Oz. | Smuggler's Cove category 2, blended lightly aged rum |
Moderately Aged Rum | 1 Fl. Oz. | Smuggler's Cove category 4, clumn still aged rum |
