Montego Bay (Donn Beach)
This is an interesting mix, similar to a simpler Zombie. When I made it I only had hot honey for some reason, so I made my honey syrup using hot honey. I have no complaints about that twist. It was great.
I have seen a few variations on this as far as the rum to use. Kindred Cocktails uses Banks 5 Island, a multi-island white/filtered rum.
Also, not to be confused with Trader Vic's drink of the same name..
Ingredients
Ingredient | Amount | Notes |
---|---|---|
Angostura Bitters | 1 dash | |
Honey Syrup | 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. | |
Absinthe | 1⁄8 tsp | |
Lime Juice | 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. | |
Grapefruit Juice | 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. | |
Allspice Dram / Pimento Dram | 1⁄4 Fl. Oz. | |
Aged Jamaican Rum | 1 1⁄2 Fl. Oz. |
Directions
- Add all ingredients to shaker and shake with cracked ice
- Open pour into glass
The original calls for blending, etc. but this works for me using cracked ice or "ice tubes" and shaking.
